In his letter to Minister of State for Land Transport and Development M Suresh said the ministry is keen to conduct an extensive audit of the existing traffic system of the country as the road safety situation remains poor.
"We may not be able to solve the traffic situation in the short term, but I urge the government to do all it can to ensure that there is zero vehicular deaths, injury and damage in future years. By doing so, they would also be able to meet their aim to eliminate all motor vehicle mishaps," he said.

He further claimed that all the data collected by the ministry will have to be shared and shared with the respective state governments, if necessary, and advised the government to seek their consent before releasing any of the information. Woman tells court of home invasion terror attack
Officers were called about 5:30 p.m.
Police said the woman was at a home in the 1400 block of North State Route 29 when a man entered through a second-floor window, grabbed her hand and pulled her off her feet.
She was treated at a hospital for cuts and bruises.
The suspect then ran up the stairs. She called 911 and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman is expected to survive.
Police said the woman was not armed and had no criminal history.
